A choice to rise from rags to riches while embracing the power of total experience with your environment is necessary. The life story Steve Job wrote everyday at Apple remind me of the experiences and choice Napoleon Hill made along the way towards accomplishing the development of “ a practical understable philosophy of personal achievement organised from factual knowledge gained from experience of men and women in the great university of life.”

In attempt to earn a living elsewhere while undertaking this grand assignment, Napoleon Hill built five successful businesses alone and with partners, but which he would abandon at their peaks whenever his inner consciousness reached the unendeing conflict. However opon exiting his last such business in the fall of 1923, he found himself for the first time without funds and without a plan by which to work his way out of his difficulties. Incidentaly, by this time Hill had developed the seventeen principles that for the Philosophy of personal achievement. While he had spent considerable time in colleges and universities lecturing people on these principles, he had not experienced them for his own gain. As he made attempts to recover, he found himself in the same spot, paralised by indecision and exposed to much the same circumstances like many fellow kenyans today who have been negatively affected by the rampart economic environment today. Hill’s own admission was that his predicament was self inflicted, as he uncovered a great reality of life - “that certain emergencies in life can not be understood without a personal experience,” and that to be understood, they must be felt.” Breaking away from poverty require a new personal experience with wealth. The poor minded middle class immitate wealth by affording expensive luxury one off in their life time, for example by acquiring expensive cars or large homes. Have you been battered by the economic situation today? Like Hill “you have been reduced to poverty and humiliated in order that you might be forced to discover the other self”. The discovery usually come as a result of emergency when men are forced to change their habits and find their way out of difficulty.
